I absolutely loved my stay at El Gran Hotel! The location in the heart of Merida is unbeatable, just a short walk from the main plaza and surrounded by historic charm. My room was spacious and quiet, though I did notice that the lighting could use some improvement. With fantastic dining options nearby and an attentive staff, this hotel certainly made my trip nice.

I had a good stay at El Gran Hotel in Merida. The hotel boasts stunning old-world charm, and its central location made exploring the historical sights a breeze. However, the building does show signs of wear, particularly in the upkeep of some areas. Overall, it was a charming experience that I would gladly repeat.

Rooms

My room was bright and spacious, complete with antique furniture and a lovely balcony view of the plaza. The high ceilings added to the grandeur, but I did notice some loose tiles and occasional mold in the bathroom, which detracted slightly from the experience.

I had a nice stay at El Gran Hotel in Merida, but it wasn’t without its quirks. The historic charm and elegance of the place truly stood out, with its beautiful decor and comfortable beds. However, I did face some issues, such as the absence of elevators and a few worn carpets in my room. Overall, it was a great adventure in a culturally rich setting.

Rooms

My room featured high ceilings and had a lovely view overlooking the plaza, which was good. The comfy beds made for a restful night, though I found the decor a bit dated and some carpets worn. No coffee service in the room was a disappointment. But overall, it served its purpose well.

The hotel is located in the heart of Merida, just a block away from the main plaza and surrounded by great dining options and local attractions. I loved stepping out into the vibrant square that transformed in the evenings into a mini night market.

While there wasn’t an on-site restaurant, dining at nearby places like Chaya Maya was a treat (I highly recommend the Lime soup!). The Starbucks in the lobby was a convenient spot for a quick coffee fix.
Facilities

The hotel features some lovely architectural details, but the lack of an elevator was a challenge for me. Also, parking is a bit inconvenient as it’s a few streets away. On the bright side, they offer housekeeping and laundry services.

However, I did face some minor issues with room service and spotty Wi-Fi. Overall, the experience was good, and I would certainly return.

I really enjoyed my stay at El Gran Hotel in Merida. The beautiful colonial architecture added a unique charm, and the location in the city center made it easy to explore. However, the hotel is a bit dated and could use some renovations, particularly in the bathrooms, where I noticed a little mold. Overall, it was a nice experience, but some small improvements could make it even better.
